Martinsart British Cemetery

The single row of 16 graves shoulder-to-shoulder comprise those of the 14 men of 13th Royal Irish Rifles who were killed on 28 June 1916 and two officers of 10th Royal Irish Rifles killed on 3 July 1916.

The casualties of 28 June were (from left to right):1469 Regimental Serjeant Major James Beatson, 16230 Rifleman Thomas John Bell, 87 Rifleman James Carson, 17492 Rifleman Albert Victor Crangle, 17379 Rifleman Richard Crawley, 137 Rifleman David Dale, 16425 Rifleman William Darragh, 16567 Rifleman Samuel Hamilton, 17856 Rifleman George Heenan, 16641 Rifleman Alex Jones, 16867 Rifleman Joseph Martin, 16841 Rifleman Thomas Mercer, 1470 Company Serjeant Major Joseph McCoy, and 2370 Rifleman Joseph George Thompson.

The two officers killed on 3 July were: Second Lieutenants David Bertram Corbett, and Charles Frederick Craig.
